The Romans used sibyls to predict the future. As with the Greeks, the sibyl was a female chosen by a god to answer questions and provide prophecy. The most famous of them all was the Sibyl of Cumae.  She saw the future like one watching a movie or television. This was probably due to the drugs, usually poppies, that were used by oracles to help with their visions.The Sibyl of Cumae did not just verbally tell prophecy, but wrote nine volumes of prophecy. The majority of these prophecies turned out true.
