The Celts

The Celtic people "ranged from the British Isles and northern Spain to as far east as Transylvania, the Black Sea coasts, and Galatia in Anatolia and were in part absorbed into the Roman Empire as Britons, Gauls, Boii, Galatians, and Celtiberians." Considered savages by the Greeks and Romans, they stilled traded with each other. The Celts are now considered to be parts of the British Isles and Great Britain. Their culture has been steeped in the use of magick and nature since their beginning. From Druid priests and priestesses to the solitary healer working at her hearth, magick was used daily in this time. Most prayed to the Maiden, the Mother, and the Crone. The holy three in one, the Goddess, was revered in this society. Her counterpart, the Consort or Green Man, was also prayed to for certain things. With animals as their familiars, usually pictured as cats, rats, toads, and ravens, most witches were depicted with them at their side.
